The St. Michael-Albertville Rotary Club is pleased to announce that St. Michael-Albertville High School juniors Praise Hanson, Alexander Boltz, and Isabella Rice were recognized as the Rotary Students of the month for October.
 
Praise Hanson:
Praise, daughter of Korpo and Presley, has maintained strong grades while working a part-time job and being active in school activities. She was voted Social Chair in Choir. She also participates in volleyball. After graduation, Praise would like to attend the University of Minnesota to study radiology to become a radiologist.
 
Alexander Boltz:
Alexander, son of Sherrie Hatfield and Jason Boltz, is very involved in school activities. He is the captain of the debate team and has competed in debate at the national level. He has received an academic award in social studies, two spotlight scholarship awards, and letters in marching band, instrumental music, and debate. Alexander is also a Boy Scout and volunteers in a local emergency room. He would like to attend college for something in the medical field.
 
Isabella Rice:
Isabella, daughter of Nick and Nicole, is active in swimming, hockey, and the freshmen mentorship program. She also has achieved a place on the academic honor roll. After graduation, Isabella may study something related to STEM or possibly attend a trade school.
 
 
“Rotary is very proud to recognize Praise, Alexander, and Isabella as students of the month,” said Derek Larson, STMA Rotary Club President. “They have demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence and represent the service above self ideals of Rotary. We wish them a successful future.”
 
The STMA Rotary Club honors students of the month during each month of the school year. The awards are given during the students’ junior year so they may include them on college applications and scholarship forms. Rotary Students of the Month are selected by STMA’s homeroom teachers. Rotary Students of the Month must demonstrate an interest in their community, have personal accomplishments or achievements, show respect to themselves and others, show a passion for Service Above Self, must be drug/alcohol free, and cannot have committed a crime.
